Eat, Pray, LoveEat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

At first I was excited for this book because the author seemed like someone I could relate to – traveling around the world to “find herself”. About 10 chapters into the book, even though I was very attached and wanted to finish, I had to put it down. Reading this book reminded me of my own journal! The woman is very emotional and even though it’s a fun (read: dramatic) read, I decided I might as well just read my journal and reflect on my own life – and review my life lessons that way. I really liked her writing style though, easily draws the reader into her life.

Boys Will Put You on a Pedestal (so They Can Look up Your Skirt)Boys Will Put You on a Pedestal by Philip Van Munching

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A father’s insights for his daughters. I didn’t agree with ALL of the chapters, but it was a refreshing perspective. He shares personal stories in each chapter to help persuade his point, instead of forcing it down. Great read for teenage daughters, or even those older!
